Installing Restore only Agents

To install agents software for restore only, select a Install Agents for Restore only check box in a Selected Platforms dialog during the Installation, as shown in the sample screen image. Installing Restore only Agents allows you to install the agent software without consuming any license.
Installing the restore only agent software using Install Restore only Agent option will display the client in the CommCell console enabling you to select a client during the restore process. This is displayed in the sample image.

To install agents software for restore only, enter Yes during the Installation, as shown in the sample screen. Installing Restore only Agents allows you to install the agent software without consuming any license.	Do you want to use the agents for restore only without consuming licenses? [no] yes
Installing the restore only agent software will display the client in the CommCell console enabling you to select a client during the restore process. This is displayed in the sample image.

To install Oracle, SAP for Oracle and SAP for MAXDB iDataAgents software for restore only, perform the following steps:

Install the Agents software. For step-by-step procedure of agents, see Installation.
Create an Instance.
- For Oracle iDataAgent, see Create/Modify an Instance.
- For SAP for Oracle iDataAgent, see Create an Instance.
- For SAP for MAXDB iDataAgent, see Create an Instance.
Release the license using following steps:
- From the CommCell Browser, navigate to Client Computers | <Client>
- Right-click the Oracle or SAP for Oracle or SAP for MAX DB and point to All Tasks and then click Release License.
- Click Yes to release the license.

To install Microsoft SQL Server iDataAgent for restore only, perform the following during Installation:

Select a Install Agents for Restore only check box in a Selected Platforms dialog box.
Select Auto discovery instances check box in a SQL Auto Discover Option dialog box.
