About this Report

The Data Protection SLA (Service Level Agreement) report displays the overall performance of backup operations across multiple clients and their respective entities based on the admissible SLA value configured in the CommNet Browser.

When to use this Report

Use the performance ratings shown in the report to determine if the client entities of your CommCells have adequate backup coverage in order to take any corrective actions such as:

This report presents the data in the following sections:

Sections Sub-Sections Description
Summary for all Selected CommCells ComCells SLA The pie chart shows the number of CommCells that are above and below the admissible SLA.

The table shows the SLA and admissible SLA for each CommCell.

Clients SLA The pie chart shows the number of clients that are above and below the admissible SLA.

The table shows the SLA and admissible SLA for each client.

Applications SLA The pie chart shows the number of agents/applications that are above and below the admissible SLA.

The table shows the SLA and admissible SLA for each agent/application.

CommCell CommCell SLA Summary The following information is displayed for the CommCell:
  • The admissible SLA.
  • The average SLA for the CommCell.
  • A pie chart with the number of subclients that are above and below the admissible SLA.
Agent SLA Summary The following information is displayed for each agent/application of the CommCell:
  • The average SLA.
  • A pie chart with the number of subclients that are above and below the admissible SLA.
  • A table that displays the short and long term backup coverage for each of the client's entities.

    When you click on a grid or icon in the Short-term No DP Failures <n> day(s) column, the Data Protection Detail report will be displayed. For any other column, the Data Protection Coverage report will be displayed.

How to Generate the Report

  • From the CommNet Browser, click Reports.
  • Under Data Protection Reports, click SLA Report.

  • Under Cell Selection, expand the CommCells node and select the CommCell(s) to be included in this report.
  • Click Generate.

Scheduling and Saving a Report

After a report is generated, you can schedule a new report and save it to an specific location as a PDF, excel spreadsheet or MHTML file. Scheduling and saving reports will help you analyze and compare data from your CommCells.

Follow the steps below to create a schedule:

  • Click Schedule from the top of the report window.
  • Type the name of the schedule and enter a description.
  • Click Next.
  • Select the appropriate schedule options. For example:
    • Select the time zone.
    • Select the start date and the frequency to generate the report.
    • Change the Start Time to 9:00 PM
    • Click Repeat Task and configure at which interval the schedule should be repeated.
  • Click Next.
  • Select the file format.
  • Click Save To File to save the report to a local drive or network share.

    Specify the Destination Path for the output file.

  • You can also click Send E-Mail to User(s) and/or User Groups(s) to send the report as an email attachment to a user or user group.
  • Click Finish.

The report will be generated as specified in the schedule task.

Customizations That You Can Perform With This Report

You can further customize the report by using the filters available in the report. To access the filter options, click Filters at the top of the report window as shown in the image. After making your selections, click Generate to update the report.  

The following table describes the available filter options.

Filter Description
Time Range Selection You can adjust the reporting period to display the SLA performance for:
  • A specific date.
  • The last update time of the CommCell(s).
Include Uninstalled Clients By default, the report includes information on uninstalled clients. You can choose to exclude this information by clearing this option.
Include Deleted Subclients By default, the report includes information on deleted subclients. You can choose to exclude this information by clearing this option.
Exclude Subclient without schedules By default, the report includes subclients that do not have schedules set up. You can choose to exclude this information by selecting this option.
Exclude Command Line Subclients By default, the report excludes subclients that were created using the command line interface. You can choose to include this information by clearing this option.
Override CommCell SLA Select this option to choose a user defined SLA value for this report.
Cell Selection You can refine your cell selection by expanding the CommCells and Cell-Client Groups nodes:
  • Select multiple CommCells and/or Cell-Client Groups.
  • Select a specific client and/or client group from a CommCell.

Additional Reports

The following report is not considered a primary report as it derives from the SLA report.

Data Protection Detail Report

This report provides a comprehensive list of all the backup operations for a given date. You can access this report by clicking an active bar/grid from the graphs in the main report.

You can customize this report in the following ways:

  • By filtering the backup jobs based on their status using the Filters from the top of the window.
  • By changing the default tree view of the listed jobs to a Table View.

If you require further information on a particular backup job, double-click the job from the list to access the Job Detail dialog box.
