Auxiliary Copy allows you to define a storage policy copy
to be configured with a parallel copy, which specifies that after
reading the source copy (only once) data can be written to multiple
secondary copies concurrently rather than sequentially. This optimizes
use of media, thereby decreasing the time needed to run auxiliary copy
operations.
How Parallel Copy Works? When enabled, the data is read from the source copy (only once) and written to different copies. Therefore, multiple copies are written in parallel by reading the source media only once. For step-by-step instructions on enabling this feature, see Enable a Parallel Copy. Can Be Used For...Parallel copy can be used in an environment where you have multiple copies using identical network speed. Cannot Be Used For...Parallel copy cannot be used in an environment where one copy is configured on a high speed network and the other copy is configured on a low speed network. In this scenario, the throughput of the copy configured on the low speed network will be the throughput of the auxiliary copy. For example, parallel copy operation is not advisable in an environment:

When you configure the parallel copy, resources are held until operations are complete. Therefore, do not enable this feature unless the jobs being copied are the same.
