Climatic Environment

The elements of the STK cartridge library systems use their internal fans to take the air they need for cooling from the environment of the room and expel it back into the roomThe heat dissipation of the various machines is expressed in kW.

The air conditioning is therefore limited to the environment of the computing room without the need for specific adaptations to deliver the air under and into the elements of this peripheral assembly.

The "data processing" environment complies with standard NF ISO 7730 dated December 1986, in other words the climatic environment is monitored, in terms of both temperature (°C) and hygrometry (% RH Relative Humidity).

The use of computer hardware in a climatic environment in excess of, or bordering, the extreme limits shortens the lifetime of the electronic componentsThis can adversely affect the dependability of the hardware.

OPTIMUM DEPENDABILITY IS OBTAINED WITH:

-    A TEMPERATURE OF 22 ± 2°C
          gradient of 3°C per hour

-    A HYGROMETRY OF 50 ± 5 %
gradient of 5 % per hour
