Chilled Water Supply

1. TEMPERATURE AND FLOW

The temperature of the water should be between 3°C and 15°C maximum, including the 5°C of fluctuations authorized.

The flow depends on the temperature of the chilled water and on the configuration of the DPS 9000/8xx, i.e. single-, two-, three- or four-processor configuration.

Flow/Temperature Diagram

The flow should be increased by 10% for a 25% ethylene/glycol solution and by 20% for a 50% solution %.

2. CHILLED WATER PRESSURE

The chilled water pressure should not exceed 500,000 Pa (5 kg / cm²). The flow depends on the pressure (see the following figure).

3. QUALITY OF CHILLED WATER

The chilled water should comply with the following specifications:

PARAMETERS LEVELS < or = UNIT
Total hardness 200 ppm mg CaCO3 /litre
Cl 100 ppm mg C1 /litre
SO2 100 ppm mg SO2 /litre
NH4 0.2 ppm mg NH4 /litre
Alkalinity 100 ppm mg CaCO3 /litre
pH 6.2 to 9 /
Conductivity 500 µs/cm /
Cloudiness 10 NTU /

If the chilled water contains elements which could favour the appearance of rust, a rust inhibitor should be added. For further information on this point, contact Bull's Customer Department.
