Extinguishing Agents
The extinguishing agents most often used are:
- inert gases such as ARGONITE (Argon-based) or
INERGEN.The future of FM 200 is being reviewed,
- water in the form of sprinklers or sprays (pending certification),
- the use of HALON 1301 gas shall be prohibited as from
1st January 2003.
If the data processing system is installed in a room equipped with water
sprinklers, the water pipes shall only be loaded subsequent to a primary
detection.
It is strongly recommended not to use CO² gas for the following
reasons:
- electronic components: thermal shock,
- personnel: danger from gassing.
