Water Damage

Water damage in a data processing site is generally due to:

• extinguishing fires using water spray
• leaks from the air-conditioning system
• leaks from or burst in a pipe which passes through the computing room
• water rise following heavy rain

In order to detect any leaks, it is recommended that sensitive leads, connected to an alarm or remote surveillance centre, be installed under the equipment or in high-risk zones.
