Access Control
Access control is becoming increasingly necessary for various reasons, including,
in particular:
- Operating security (confidentiality, malicious intent, entry by personnel, etc.)
- Air conditioning, including repeated opening and closing of the doors to the computing
room.
Access to the data processing centre should be limited to persons working there.
The level of sophistication of this control can vary according to the location of the
data processing centre in the building, for example:
- Quite simply, authorized persons can be given a duplicate of the key of the door to the
computing room
- Access via an electric door opener controlled by a badge reader or numeric keyboard
- Use of a system of hierarchized badges (times and places authorized on the basis of the
holder's duties)
- Video control system with door opened from the room
A system of controlling access to a given place is only valid if there
are NO EXCEPTIONS. |
