The quantity of new air introduced into the computing room should be kept to the strict minimum. A value of 1 to 1.5 times the volume of the room per hour is generally accepted as being optimum. The advantage of increasing the pressure in the room is that it creates a movement of air towards the outside, which helps to prevent dust from entering the room. The rooms containing the CPUs and the disks are subject to a higher over-pressure than ancillary rooms such as console rooms, machining rooms, or media storage rooms.
