Gas Pollution

Gas pollution is difficult to control at present. The reason for this is related to the fact that gases have many interactions, which means that their possible synergy complicates the definition of a single threshold for each gas. The known effects on equipment and hardware are corrosion and oxidation.

In a standard computing environment, concentrations of gases do not exceed an acceptable level. However, if there are chemical or industrial processing factories in the neighbourhood, if chemical odours are present, or if any other symptom or inherent problem is detected, the situation should be analysed immediately.
