Checks and Alarms

As the air-conditioning system is automatically regulated, any value which falls outside the temperature and hygrometry specifications must be highlighted. This should occur in a manner which enables the appropriate maintenance personnel to take action rapidly to ensure that the computer does not operate outside the prescribed limits for a prolonged period.

Detectors should be judiciously installed at the ventilated air intake of the air-conditioning cabinets and/or in the computing room. They should not, for example, be installed on panels which are subject to climatic variations (for example, outside walls).

The alarms should indicate any value which falls outside the climatic environment conditions to be maintained in the room (computer in operation).

A thermohygrograph with weekly strips should be installed so that any disruptions in the regulation of the air conditioning can be viewed and recorded.

It is recommended to archive these thermohygrograph recording sheets for at least three months.
