Introduction

This Site Preparation guide deals with the new computing system you are about to acquire. This guide comprises:

1. Three main parts containing all our specifications and recommendations with regard to current standardization in the following fields:
   • Fitting out the premises (raised floor, false ceiling, fire protection, etc.)
   • Air conditioning
   • Power supply
2. A part which describes the Special Conditions of your new system.

This guide is also intended for use by the various technicians who may be required to contribute their skills in the above-mentioned fields.

The installation study for your system should be carried out in collaboration with your teams during an upcoming visit by our local Customer Service Department.

All the standards mentioned in this guide are applicable in France. They serve as reference standardsfor equivalent standards to be complied with in other countries. These standards should be applied in the relevant country.

The installations of ancillary equipment and the construction of a data processing centre should comply with:

• A level of safety which complies with the standards and laws in force in the country where the system is to be installed and with the customer's requirements. As an example, in France, the low voltage electrical installation must comply with standard NF C15.100 of May 1991 and the Decree of 14 November 1988 ("Worker protection").
• The customer's aspirations in terms of continuity of operation of the "data processing" system. This continuity of operation may be highlighted by Bull for reasons of hardware dependability.

The customer assumes the cost of the work necessary to attain the required safety level and meet the continuity of operation requirement.
