The bullx B510 compute blade was designed with HPC in mind. It is based on new Intel® Romley platform and Intel® Xeon® Processor E5-2600 family codenamed Sandy-Bridge.

The bullx blade chassis can host indifferently 18 single-width compute blades (B500 model), 9 double-width accelerator blades (B505 model) or 9 Twin 2-Socket boards double-width Compute server blades (B510 model) - or any combination of those three types of blades.

The bullx B510 Compute blade hosts 2 distinct servers called SandyBridge CPU Board (SCB).

Each SandyBridge CPU Board contains:

  • 2 high-frequency Intel® Xeon® E5-2600 family processors

Intel® Xeon® E5-2600 processors or SandyBridge (up to 8 cores at 2.9GHz)

  • 2 QPI links at 8GT/s
  • A large memory capacity (up to 64GB memory)

Up to 8 DDR3 dimm at 1600MHz

  • 1 InfiniBand (QDR link - ConnectX-2 or FDR link - ConnectX-3)
  • 1Gb dual port Ethernet controller for the links to CMM and ESM
  • 1 Integrated Baseboard Management Controller (BMC)
  • 1 SATA disk (2.5", 80/120/250 GB) or 1 SSD drive (2.5"- 120 GB)
