Diag13.rom – 2MB Diagnostic image that can be used with flash utilities. 5. $SBYDiag.001 – 1MB Diagnostic image for multiple floppy support 6. $SBYDiag.002 – 1MB Diagnostic image for multiple floppy support Utility File details: 1. AFUIDOS.exe - Dos executable Bios/Diagnostic update utility 2. AFUILNX - Online Linux executable Bios/Diagnostic update utility 3. This file. Follow the procedure below to update the Intel(r) Server Compute Blade SBX44 BIOS: Flash update procedure in DOS, Linux and Windows 1. Boot OS. 2. Run AFUIDOS, AFUILNX or AFUIWIN utility from USB key device / hard disk with required command line options. Refer to the section below for details on command line options. 3. Use sbx4400x.rom (2MB image) to program the flash part. OR Use sbx4400x.001 and sbx4400x.002 (1MB images) to flash BIOS using multiple floppies. Options with new Flash Utilities: 1. BIOS supported Options for AFUIDOS.exe /M: - Update machine type / model /A: - Update Asset ID /B: - Update Box Serial number /E: - Update UUID (Supported only when system is in Manufacturing Mode) /S: - Save current BIOS /I: - Flash new BIOS /D: - Flash new Diagnostics image. The is optional. When no filename is specified $sbydiag.001 is a used as default file name. /2 - Transfer Primary partition BIOS to Secondary partition If no command line option is given utility will open in GUI form. ============================================================================= BIOS RECOVERY NOTES ============================================================================= Refer to the Intel(R) Server Compute Blade SBX44 Installation and User's Guide for information on bios recovery procedures. ============================================================================= KNOWN ISSUES/WORKAROUNDS ============================================================================= Note: After flashing the new BIOS, Default CMOS would be loaded during next reboot. The message “CMOS checksum Bad. Defaults Loaded” is displayed during POST. User can modify the Default setting by going to setup. ============================================================================= FEATURES ADDED ============================================================================= - IERR 3-Strike rule implementation - Microcode patch SRV_P_35.PDB - Latest microcode M02F260D included. - Added 1.2.16P3 version of PXE option ROMs. - MAC address display into setup for off-board NICs. ============================================================================= ISSUES FIXED ============================================================================= Issues address in Version - Build ID: SBX44.86B.0002.P04 - MAC Addresses not shown in BIOS for Intel(r) Server Compute Blade SBX44. - IDE configuration menu incorrect when enable RAID - SMBIOS type1 not filled in properly if 7-char MTM not entered. - Unclear when to press f1 or f12 key during post - Windows Device Manager only displays 2 Xeon and 1 generic proc w/4 installed - BMC reporting no DIMMs present - SOL only works at 19.2 baud. - PCI Errors During Fibre Channel VTM on 2P configuration. - Added (Three Strike Rule) to allow I-Error fault logic to not mark CPU bad if not bad - Intel(r) Server Compute Blade SBX44 doesn't wol/shutdown after power button or MM command, working as designed. - Shadow RAM overflow error reported at end of POST - With no IDE Raid enabled, boot order at startup sequence inconsistent - With IDE Raid enabled, bios and Management Module GUI showed wrong startup sequence - With only NIC2 enable, bios didn't show port108 - MAC addr display is wrong in Management Module web browser - Boot order Fix - MAC address info needs to be formatted correctly Minor text line up issue. - Restoring cmos image causes bios to load defaults. Changes BIOS settings, have to be immediately re-implemented on every system after a flash update. - SBE Management Module log does not correctly indicate which DIMM failed even though SEL displays correct DIMMs. - Memory Errors (runtime/POST) causes "Error:Unsupported SEL type(0)" to be read and cannot interpreted SEL after error occurs. - Console Redirection (COM1) at 38.4k baud rate transfers at 57.6k causing Console redirection will not work. - CMOS checksum error does not restore boot order to default Customer requiring the boot order rest manually in Management Module or BIOS so that they agree. - Intel(r) Server Compute Blade SBX44 not booting network first after WOL during reboots. - Intel(r) Server Compute Blade SBX44does not always WOL - BIOS default is num lock on for boot - BIOS reporting invalid BIOS version in SMBIOS Minor extraneous text in SMBIOS BIOS version. - BIOS release notes does not include supported processor steppings - Intel(r) Server Compute Blade SBX44 blades receive no connectivity through CPM - Intel(r) Server Compute Blade SBX44 cannot PXE boot through OPM. - Cannot Wake On Lan with Intel(r) Server Compute Blade SBX44 - Switch /K and /KN does not display any message on execution of AFUIDOS. - Update diagnostics from menu attempts to use missing file $sbydiag.001. - No error messages on updating with invalid parameters.
