On the Advanced Management Module select Firmware Update from the I/O Module Tasks section of the menu. 2. Select the Target I/O module bay to update. 3. Browse for the boot Firmware File to apply. 4. Select the IBM ICPM BOOT image to update and click Update. 5. Click Continue on the loaded web page to update the code. 6. Select Firmware Update from the I/O Module Tasks section of the menu. 7. Select the Target I/O module bay to update. 8. Browse for the Image Firmware File to apply. 9. Select the IBM ICPM Image position to update and click Update. 10. Click Continue on the loaded web page to update the code. 11. Select Firmware Update from the I/O Module Tasks section of the menu. 12. Click the Click to Activate button on the image that was installed. 13. Click the OK button on the pop-up windows. 14. Navigate to the Admin/Power/Restart menu and restart the module updated. IMPORTANT: After updating to the 1.0.3.0 code the module will update board firmware            during the first reboot. Do not reboot or remove power from the module until            POST has completed. The reboot will take approximately 2 to 3 minutes.    Failure to wait for POST complete will corrupt the ICPM firmware and will            cause an unrecoverable error condition. 15. After the module POST Complete remove and reinstall the module. NOTE: Step 15 is only required when upgrading the module from a version prior to 1.0.3.0. The reboot is required to apply the code and fixed on to the module. The minimal time remove and reinstall is required to activate the code fix. If the module is running code 1.0.3.0 or later a remove and reinstall is not required. NOTE: Applying and activating the 1.0.3.0 code with the rebooting or remove/reinstall of the switch may cause a POST TIMEOUT or a COMMUNICATION LOSS to be logged in the aMM Event Log. This is due to the extended time needed to update the module. This will recover within 4 minutes of starting the rebooting or remove/reinstall. 4.0 Configuration Information ------------------------------ No special configuration is required. 5.0 Unattended Mode ------------------------------- Unattended Mode is not supported for updating the Cisco Switch Module firmware. 6.0 WEB SITES AND PHONE SUPPORT --------------------------- Information and assistance is available through the IBM Web site and by phone. 6.1 Web sites ------------- IBM Support Web Site: http://www.ibm.com/servers/eserver/support/bladecenter/index.html 6.2 Software service and support -------------------------------- Through IBM Support Line, you can get telephone assistance, for a fee, with usage, configuration, and software problems with xSeries servers, IntelliStation workstations, and appliances.
