Release Notes - Data Classification Enabler

Caveats

The following caveats and open issues remain in this release. Recommended workaround is provided where possible.

Hard link files are not supported by the Data Classification Enabler for Windows

If hard links are known to be in the subclient content, use as a workaround either Change Journal or Classic Scan when running a Windows File System backup.

For Data Classification for Exchange (Windows), if Exchange server-side rules are configured for mailboxes to move messages automatically when they are received, these messages will not be captured by Data Classification and therefore will not be protected by any data protection operation using Data Classification

As a workaround, if the enterprise is using server-side rules for Outlook heavily, we recommend not using the Data Classification Enabler for data protection operations.

For Windows, Exclude Users option from the DataClassSet Properties (Rules) tab is not supported

As a workaround, use the Include Users option to include all users on the client except the user(s) intended for exclusion.

Data Classification for Exchange (Windows) does not work with an Exchange 2007 Cluster Continuous Replication (CCR) Configuration on Windows 2003

For Windows, "Add User Group" option is not working correctly

To secure the data owned by a group to be archived, use the Add User option instead of the Add User Group option in the Rules tab of the DataClass Properties dialog box. Currently, for such data to be archived successfully, the group must authenticate against the domain controller as a user and not as a group. When using the Add User option, be sure to include the domain name and the group name.

Changes applied in this Release to Data Classification Enabler will cause a recreation of its existing databases

When Data Classification and CDR are installed on the same Unix computer, the DcSvc service is shown as N/A

If the services list is run on a Unix computer which has both CDR and Data Classification installed, the DcSvc will appear as N/A. This can be ignored.
