Remote Install/Upgrade Error Messages


The following section provides a list of common errors displayed in the log files. Suitable actions are also provided.

Failed to reboot remote client. Reboot the client and then re-run the upgrade (locally or remotely).
This client requires a reboot.
Access denied to reboot this computer.
Calypso upgrade is not required on the remote computer. The client is at the same version as the CommServe.
Task Scheduler service is not installed on this remote computer Install the Task Scheduler Service on the remote client computer and then re-run the remote upgrade, or perform the upgrade locally.
Unable to start the Task Scheduler service on this remote computer The user does not have the necessary permission to schedule a task on the remote computer.

Make sure that the user credentials used by the upgrade program to login to the remote computer has administrator privileges on the remote client computer.

Failed to access Task Scheduler service on this remote computer. Access denied
Failed to create Task on this remote computer.
Failed to set account information. Verify that the user logged on to the local computer is the same as the user information entered for the remote install
Failed to launch TaskSched.exe to reboot <error message> Error within Task Scheduler service that may prevent the upgrade process to restart the remote client computer.

Make sure that the Task Scheduler service is running properly on the remote client computer, before performing the remote upgrade again.

Upgrade failed. No response during time out. Communication failure. Check your network to see if the client computer is accessible.
Failed to proceed with 'Services' running on the remote machine. Service Control Manager window is open on the remote client computer.

Close the window and then re-run the upgrade (locally or remotely).

Failed to proceed with 'Calypso CommCell Console for Java' running on the remote machine. The stand-alone application version of the CommCell Console is open on the remote client computer.

Close the window and then re-run the upgrade (locally or remotely)

Prior Calypso installation has not fully completed on this remote client. Please resume installation locally on this remote client. This message will be displayed if the remote upgrade detects pending rename keys as a result of a failed installation of a CommCell component.
Failed to delete the Calypso folder. File(s) or folder(s) from the <software installation path> directory may be open on the remote client computer.

Verify that all the file(s)/folder(s) are closed in the <software installation path> directory and then re-run the upgrade (locally or remotely).

Unable to verify connectivity with the CommServe. Communication failure between the client and CommServe computers.

Check the following:

  • Check your network to see if the CommServe computer is accessible from the client computer.
  • Verify that the services are running in both the CommServe and client computers.
Remote Upgrade of Oracle iDataAgent is not allowed Client computers with the Oracle iDataAgent cannot be upgraded remotely.

Run the upgrade program locally on the computer with the Oracle iDataAgent.

Setup failed to stop Oracle Services. Oracle services could not be automatically stopped. Stop Oracle services manually and continue installation locally.
Setup failed to rename ORASBT.DLL on remote client. Renaming of ORASBT.DLL file on remote client failed.

Manually rename or delete occurrences of ORASBT.DLL within the SYSTEM PATH environment variable and continue installation locally.
