Advanced Browse Options

Use this dialog to access additional browse capabilities for the browse window. Note that all the options described in this help may not be available and only the options displayed in the dialog box are applicable to the agent for which the information is being displayed.

Use MediaAgent

Select the MediaAgent associated with the data you want to browse, or select Any MediaAgent.

Image Browsing

Select this option to display the structure of the entity as it existed as of some specified time.

Page Size

Specifies the number of objects to be displayed in the browse window.

Use Exact Index

Specifies whether the browse operation must use the index associated with the data protection operation performed at the specified time or the most recent index. By default, the system uses the index associated with the most recent data protection operation. However, note that this option can be globally enabled for the CommCell from the Browse/Recovery Option dialog box in the Control Panel and can be overridden by selecting (or clearing) the option for the specific browse operation. This option may be enabled if you do not have the media associated with most recent index available in the CommCell.

Exclude Data Before

Specifies that the browse operation must return data that has been backed up after the specified date. Also provides a space for you to type the date and time.

Browse from copy precedence

Specifies whether the browse window must display data from the selected copy (either the Synchronous Copy or Selective Copy). By default, the system displays data from the storage policy copy with the lowest copy precedence. If the associated data was pruned from the primary copy, the system automatically searches the other copies of the storage policy in the following order:

  1. Lowest copy precedence to highest copy precedence among all synchronous copies.
  2. Lowest copy precedence to highest copy precedence among all selective copies (if the agent supports selective copies).
