Client Computer Properties (Advanced)

Use this tab to establish advanced options.

Enter Alternate Cache Partition for QSnap. Please ensure that the volume specified is an NTFS volume

Use this space to change the location of the QSnap Copy-on-Write (COW) cache for all volumes on the client.
  • Specify the drive letter without a slash. For example, type F: to use drive F as the alternate cache location. Mount paths are not supported.
  • For Windows platforms, you can only specify an NTFS volume as a cache volume.

CDR Log File Location

For CDR, specifies the location for log files on either a source or destination computer.

Advanced Features

Displays a list of advanced feature licenses used by the Client. (See License Administration in Books Online for detailed information on advanced feature licenses.)

Enable Content Indexing

Specifies whether content indexing is enabled or not.

When enabled, the Content Indexing Engine will content index the data associated with the client if content indexing is enabled in the storage policies associated with the subclients within the client. (If necessary, you can exclude certain subclients from being content indexed from the storage policies associated with the client. This option is available in the Subclient Association dialog box which is accessible from the Storage Policy Properties (Content Indexing) tab.

Once enabled, data from subsequent data protection operations for supported agents will be content indexed.

Note that when you enable this option a Content Index Client license will be consumed.

Enable Snap Backups

Specifies whether SnapProtect is enabled for the client or not.

When enabled, you can use the SnapProtect feature to create snapshots of the application data to be used for various data protection operations.

Note that when you enable this option a Hardware Snapshot Enabler license will be consumed.

Optimize Data For Search

Use this option along with the Enable Exchange Delegated Search option in the Browse/Search/Recovery dialog box in the Control panel to perform end-user search on delegated Exchange mailboxes and online Exchange data.

Proxy for Exchange

Use this list to specify the name of the client hosting 32-bit Exchange agents in non-standard installation configurations, in order to establish communications with the Exchange Server for support of Outlook Add-In, OWA and/or Data Classification Enabler functionality. To establish or change the name of the proxy for Exchange client, select one from the list.

Enable retry on network errors

When enabled, the Robust Network Layer feature is enabled allowing the Job Manager to continuously check for network connectivity when loss of connectivity is detected.
