Schedule Details (Job Options)

Use the Job Options dialog box to select the type of backup or SRM Data Collection schedule to associate with a schedule policy. Note that all the options described in this help may not be available and only the options displayed in the dialog box are relevant to the operation that is being performed.

Discovery

For SRM, establishes the SRM Data Collection schedule to contain the Discovery job type, which gathers less detailed information from the client.

Analysis

For SRM, establishes the SRM Data Collection schedule to contain the Analysis job type, which gathers all the information available from the client.

Full

Establishes the schedule to contain full backups, which will back up all data for the selected iDataAgent.

Incremental

Establishes the schedule to contain incremental backups, which will back up all data that is new or has changed since the last backup for the selected iDataAgent.

Differential

Establishes the schedule to contain differential backups, which will back up all File System data that is new or has changed since the last full backup for the selected iDataAgent.

Synthetic Full

Establishes the schedule to contain synthetic full backups, which will create a full backup from existing backup data for the selected iDataAgent. The Synthetic Full backup consolidates the backup data; it does not actually back up data from the client computer.

Pre-Selected Backup Type (Exchange Database iDataAgent only)

Establishes the job as either an Incremental or Differential backup, as determined during installation or later through client configuration. An Incremental backup backs up all data that is new or has changed since the last backup for the selected subclient. A Differential backup backs up all data that is new or has changed since the last Full backup for the selected subclient.

Run Incremental Backup

This option is only available when Synthetic Full is selected.
When selected, enables the options for running an Incremental backup either immediately before a Synthetic Full backup or immediately after a successfully completed Synthetic Full backup. When cleared, an Incremental backup is not automatically run either immediately before or after the Synthetic Full backup.

Before Synthetic Full: Select this option to back up any data that is new or changed since the previous backup in order to have it included as part of the Synthetic Full backup.
After Synthetic Full: Select this option to back up any data that is new or changed since the backup that occurred prior to the Synthetic Full backup.

Advanced

Provides access to the Advanced Backup Options dialog box, which provides advanced backup features. In the case of scheduling a synthetic full backup, this option is only enabled if the Run Incremental Backup option is selected.
