Use this dialog box to select the backups that will be verified on a storage policy copy when a data verification operation is run; and to configure the data encryption properties for the storage policy copy.
Data Verification
None
If selected, no backups for this copy will be verified when a data verification operation is run.
All Jobs
If selected, all backups on this copy will be verified when a data verification operation is run.
All Full Jobs
If selected, only full backups on this copy will be verified when a data verification operation is run.
If selected, only the backup data after the specified date will be verified on this copy when a data verification operation is run.
Select a Date
Select a date from the drop down field.
Verification expires after
Select the number of months for which the data verification will be valid.
Data Encryption
Encrypt Data
When selected, enables data encryption options for the selected storage policy copy.
Cipher
Displays the ciphers available for data transfer.
Key Length
Displays the key lengths available for the selected cipher. Note that the key length options displayed will vary according to the selected cipher.
Copy encrypted data with existing cipher
If selected, data will be copied with the existing cipher used to encrypt the data, regardless of the selection made in the preceding Cipher field.
Re-encrypt data using selected cipher
If selected, data to be copied will be re-encrypted with the cipher selected in the preceding Cipher field.
The following options are available for key management, which is useful for recovering data using Media Explorer. Note that by default a copy of the encryption key is stored in the CommServe Database Engine and will be used by all data recovery operations using the CommCell Console.
Via Media Password
When selected, this specifies that a copy of the encryption key will be stored in the media. Enabling this option will ensure that the data is retrievable using Media Explorer.
Be sure to specify a valid Media Password when selecting this option. |
No Access
When selected, encryption keys will not be stored on the storage media at all. This represents the highest media security level as even Media Explorer will not be able to recover data (regular GUI/Database-driven recovery operations will still work).
