Install Updates Job Options

Use this dialog box to start or schedule the installation of automatic updates or upgrade to the selected clients and/or MediaAgents.

Install Updates

Select this option to install updates on the selected clients and/or MediaAgents.

Upgrade Clients

Select this option to upgrade the selected clients and/or MediaAgents.

All

When selected, indicates that the updates/upgrade will be installed to all clients and MediaAgents within a CommCell.

When cleared, allows you to select the clients and/or MediaAgents in which updates/upgrade must be installed.

Available Clients and Client Groups

Lists the clients, client groups and MediaAgents that are available in the CommCell.

Selected Clients and Client Groups

Indicates the clients, client groups and MediaAgents that are selected for installing updates or upgrade.

Use the arrow buttons to add or remove the computers from this list.

Configure Alert

Provides the necessary options to configure the alerts associated with the installation of updates or upgrade.

• Add/Modify Alert

  When clicked, opens the Alert Wizard to configure necessary alerts for this operation.

• Delete Alert

  When clicked, deletes any existing alerts that are already configured.

Reboot Computer if Required

When selected, the system automatically reboots the client and/or MediaAgent computers if a reboot is required.

When cleared, the system does not automatically reboot the client and/or MediaAgent computers if a reboot is required.

If the install update or upgrade includes a driver update, all the updates required for the computer will not be installed if this option is cleared.

Continue with Install Updates even if jobs are running on the computer

When enabled, updates will be installed on the selected client/MediaAgent as per schedule even if jobs are currently running. Services will be stopped, thereby suspending the running jobs to allow the install to complete. Upon completion of the install, the restartable jobs will automatically resume, if configured to do so.
WARNING: When enabled, this option temporarily stops services, thereby suspending all running jobs including those that may not be restartable. Therefore, use caution if enabling this feature.

Use this field to enter a description about the entity. This description can include information about the entity's content, cautionary notes, etc.

Schedule

Click to schedule regular update installations on the selected clients, client groups and MediaAgents.
