Add NAS Filer

Use this dialog box to add a NAS Filer to a client computer, or set the credentials of an existing NAS Filer. Select the following parameters:

Proxy

Fully qualified domain name of a computer with the SRM Agent for NAS.

Hostname

Hostname of the NAS filer.

Type

Select either Network Appliance (NetApp) or EMC Celerra.

UID

User ID for the NFS shares on the NAS Filer.

GID

Group ID for the NFS shares on the NAS Filer.

NetBIOS Name

NetBIOS Name of the NAS Filer (NetApp only).

User Name

User Name for the CIFS shares on the NAS filer.
note.gif (292 bytes) For EMC Celerra, this is the account that has access to every CIFS share (e.g., Domain Administrator account). If this account does not have complete access, data collection may fail.

For a NetApp filer using ONTAP 6.5.x and earlier, which is part of a domain, this account is the Administrator account in that domain.

For a NetApp filer using ONTAP 7.0 and above, this account can be the special Administrator account that was created on the filer when CIFS was first set up, if you chose to set up such an account. Or it can be the Domain Administrator account if the NAS filer was added to a Windows domain.

Domain Name

Name of the Domain to which this user belongs.
note.gif (292 bytes) This is the domain of the account for which the User Name was specified above.

For a NetApp filer using ONTAP 6.5.x and earlier, which is part of a domain, this is the name of that domain.

For a NetApp filer using ONTAP 7.0 and above, which has a special Administrator account created on the filer when CIFS was first set up and this is the account used for the User name, this is the name of the filer.

If the NetApp filer uses local user accounts for authentication, enter the filer name in the Domain Name field when specifying CIFS credentials.

Password

Password for the account for which the User Name was specified above.

Login name for the NAS Filer.

note.gif (292 bytes) For EMC Celerra, this should be the nasadmin account.

Password

Password for the NAS Filer.

Community Name

Name of an SNMP community configured on the NAS filer.
