Required Capability: See Capabilities and Permitted Actions
To
create a billable entity:
- In the CommCell Browser, expand Cost Analysis, and select
Billable Entities.
- In the Cost Analysis window, click Add.
- In the
Billable Entity Properties dialog box, make appropriate entries and click OK.

To
edit a billable entity:
- In the CommCell Browser, expand Cost Analysis, and select
Billable Entity Manager.
- Select the Billable Entity that you want to edit and click Edit.
- In the
Billable Entity
Properties dialog box, make any changes and click OK.

To
delete a billable entity:
- In the CommCell Browser, expand Cost Analysis, and select
Billable Entity Manager.
- Select the Billable Entity that you want to delete, then select Delete and click Yes
to confirm deletion.

To
assign a resource to a billable entity:
- In the CommCell Browser, expand Cost Analysis, and select
Billable Entity Manager.
- Select the Billable Entity to which you want to assign resource(s) and then select one of the
SRM Agents.
- Click
Assign.
- In the
Assign Billable Entity dialog box select the appropriate resource or
groups of resources, and click OK.

To
assign billable entity to a subclient:
- From the CommCell Browser, right-click the subclient name to which
you wish to assign billable entity and click Properties.
- In the
Subclient Properties (General) dialog box, select the desired Billable
Entity from the drop down list and click OK.

UNIX systems (e.g., AIX and HP-UX) where file systems are positioned on top
of logical volumes (and not partitions), be sure to assign cost categories
at the logical volume level. Assigning cost categories at the physical disk
level will have no effect on the Cost Analysis reports for the associated
clients.

SRM Agents.

To
assign billable entity to a CommCell object:
- Select Control Panel from the CommCell Console and click
Billing
Configuration.
- Select a CommCell object, then select a billing department (as defined
in the CommNet Browser) and click Apply.
- Click OK.

To
dissociate a billable entity associated with a CommCell object:
- Select Control Panel from the CommCell Console and click
Billing
Configuration.
- Select a CommCell object whose billable entity you wish to remove and
click Clear.
- Click OK.

To
assign cost category to secondary storage device:
- In the CommCell Browser, expand Storage Resources, and select
Libraries.
- Right click a storage device and click Properties.
- Select the
Library Properties (Cost Category) dialog box and click Details.
- Select a cost category from the drop down list and click OK to
close the Details dialog box.
- Click OK.
