The following procedure describe the steps involved in restoring virtual server disks.
To
restore and configure virtual disks as virtual machines:
- Begin a Browse and Restore
procedure. The Restore Options dialog box is displayed.
- From the General tab, perform the following tasks:
For
Microsoft Virtual Servers/Hyper-V:
- Select Virtual Machine in the Restore As section.
- Select the Destination Client.
- Specify the Destination Path. Click Browse to locate
the desired destination.

destination.
- Select the datastore to which the disk will be restored.
- Click OK.
Information about the selected datastore, including space, type,
etc., is displayed. If the selected datastore does not meet the minimum
requirements needed to restore the virtual machine, you can repeat this
step until an acceptable datastore is found.
- Provide the Server Logon account associated with the
destination. If the credentials for the destination had not been
previously configured, you can configure the account by clicking
Configure Password.
- Optionally, you can also:
- select to Power ON Virtual Machine After Restore.
- provide an alternate name for the virtual machine.
- Continue the
Browse and Restore
procedure.
- While the job is running, you can right-click the job in the Job
Controller and select Details to view information on the job. After the

- If you are restoring VMware virtual server disks as a container file and
wish to mount the container file as a volume on the destination:
- Run the vmware-mount.exe utility from the command
line as follows:
vmware-mount.exe
<drive_letter> <path_to_disk>
For example:
