Overview

You can select a particular client, agent, backup set/instance, or subclient to be associated with a secondary copy. Once selected, only those data protection operations of the object(s) chosen will be copied to the copy during an auxiliary copy operation.

For example, SP_Tape_Library1_1 has three subclients assigned to it, client_data_1, client_data_2, and client_data_3, as displayed in the Associations tab of the Copy Properties dialog box.
If, for example, a copy only needs data protection operations from client_data_3 copied to it, then client_data_3 should be selected.

Once selected, only data protection operations from client_data_3 will be copied to this storage policy copy.

If the associated entity is deleted from the CommCell, the Subclient-Based Storage Policy Copy will revert to copying the data protection operations from all subclients associated to the storage policy.
