The Media Information Report provides detailed information about the media used across a selection of CommCells. This report can be generated immediately or scheduled to run at a specific time.
Four filters are available for this report, each described below:
This filter provides criteria options from which the report will obtain media information.
When selected, all media will be grouped by the source container. Media that are not associated with a container will be listed as Not Available in the Container row of the Aggregated Media Information section.
When selected, all media will be grouped by the source library.
When selected, all media will be grouped by the source location. If the Include Media Inside the Library or Include Media Outside the Library options are selected, the report will indicate that status in the Location column. Media that are not associated with a location will be listed as Not Available in the Location row of the Aggregated Media Information section.
When selected, all media will be grouped by the source storage policy or group name. Media that are not associated with a storage policy or group will be listed as Not Available in the Storage Policy/Group Name row of the Aggregated Media Information section.
In addition to the aforementioned entities, several additional options are available:
Select this option to include all media status.
Select this option to include active media.
Select this option to include media marked as bad.
Select this option to include media with overwrite protection.
Select this option to include media marked as full.
Select this option to include retired media.
Select this option to include foreign media.
Select this option to include spare media.
Select this option to include cleaning media.
Select this option to include media marked as read only.
Select this option to include appendable media.
In addition to the individual status options, you can also further refine the results to Include Media with Errors Only. Additionally, if the Prevent Export option is selected, two additional columns -- Prevent Export and Exportable Time -- will be available. The Prevent Export column will display yes or no for each media indicating whether the media has been set to prevent export. The Exportable Time column indicates the point-in-time when an export operation is allowed to take place.
This filter provides the facility to select specific time criteria from which the report will obtain media information.
This filter provides the facility to select one or more CommCells and CommCell entities from which the report will obtain media information. In addition to selecting individual entities from the expandable tree nodes, you can also choose to include all libraries, locations, storage policy copies, and media repositories within the CommNet domain.
This filter provides the facility to select the columns to be displayed in the report. The default columns available for selection will depend on the chosen Group By option in the Display Options section.
When generated, the Media Information Report displays 2 types of information:
These results are described in the following sections.
This section provides a high-level status of the entity in the Media Selection filter. Each entity in this table can be double-clicked to view complete details about all media accounted for, such as the media's location, the status of each media, etc.
If the Include Media Details option was selected in the Media Selection filter, this section will provide specific details about each media counted in the Aggregated Media Information section, including the media's bar code, library, location, etc.
The information presented in this section is cumulative, encompassing all media that satisfy the criteria established in the report filter.
