The actual capacity of a library does not match the capacity reported

Media of a higher capacity may have been discovered as a media with lower capacity

Some libraries support multiple media types. (for example, 1x, 2x, 4x, etc.) In such libraries, care should be exercised while importing and discovering media - the media should be discovered using the appropriate recording format.

If a media with a higher recording format is discovered as lower recording format, then the capacity information will also report it accordingly.
