For the MediaAgent node, the CommCell MediaAgents (MediaAgent Status) task from the MediaAgents Tasks section of the CommNet Browser can be used to view the various attributes of all the MediaAgents within a CommCell.

For each MediaAgent, the following tasks from the MediaAgent Tasks section of the CommNet Browser can be used to view detailed information of the libraries and drives controlled by a MediaAgent:

Each task window displays a time stamp based on the last time the CommNet Server received an update from the particular CommCell of the MediaAgent. Generally, the total number of libraries and drives are provided, as well as the total number of operational and not operational libraries and drives. On the CommCell MediaAgents window, the total number of operational and not operational MediaAgents is provided.


CommCell MediaAgents (MediaAgent Status)

Use this window to view information regarding important aspects of all the MediaAgents within a CommCell at a glance, such as the software version a MediaAgent is using, or if a MediaAgent is operational or not. If a MediaAgent is not operational, a reason is provided, and the date when the failure occurred.

Each column within the window can be sorted, such as, MediaAgents can be sorted by the software version they are using.


MediaAgent Drives (MediaAgent Status)

Use this window to view the information regarding the important aspects of all the physical drives controlled by a MediaAgent, such as if a particular drive is operational or not. If a drive is not operational, a reason is provided, and the date when the failure occurred.

Each column within the window can be sorted, such as, drives can be grouped by manufacturer, serial number, or firmware revision.


CommCell Libraries (Library Status)

Use this window to view information about important aspects of all the libraries within a CommCell at a glance, such as the capacity that is available within a library, the data written to a library within the past week, or if a library has become not operational.

Each column within the window can be sorted, such as, libraries can be grouped by their available capacity.
