Where to Install the Software

The DB2 iDataAgent is installed on the computer which satisfies the minimum requirements specified in System Requirements.

Installation

The software can be installed using one of the following methods:

Method 1: Install Software from the CommCell Console - to install remotely on a client computer.
Method 2:
Install the DB2 iDataAgent - Windows - to install directly on Windows client computer.

Install the DB2 iDataAgent - Unix - to install directly on Unix client computer.
Install the DB2 iDataAgent - Unix Clustered Environment - to install directly on Unix client computers in a Clustered environment.

Where to go From Here

Once you install the software you must create an Instance, to backup the data. This is explained in Create / Modify an Instance.
