Overview

The Lotus Notes Client Add-In's Offline Archive feature allows you to retain a full copy of archived messages on the Lotus Notes client computer for recall access where a network connection is not available. These copies will reside in the original mailbox until an offline archive operation has been performed. At that point, these copies will be moved to a local cache, leaving a stub in the original mailbox.

Configuring Offline Archive Options

Optionally, Lotus Notes Client users can configure the amount of time desired to retain messages that were archived offline. This capability helps reduce the amount of space consumed in the local computer's cache. Once these options are configured, users are automatically given an opportunity to perform a new archive operation with the new settings.

See Configure Offline Archive Options for step-by-step instructions.

Archiving Messages Offline

Users can initiate archive operations when configuring offline archiving options.

Recovering Messages Offline

Messages that have been archived offline can be recovered by simply double-clicking the stub created in the Lotus Notes client mailbox when the message was originally archived. Once an archived message's stub is double-clicked, the original message is automatically displayed and returned to its original folder and removed from the local cache.

See Recover Messages Archived Offline for step-by-step instructions.
