Agent Properties (Operational Parameters)

Use this tab to view and configure throttling parameters for this Agent. Note that all the options described in this help may not be available and only the options displayed in the dialog box are applicable to the agent or enabler for which the information is being displayed.

If this machine is used as destination, start throttling on source when the percentage of free disk space on this machine's log volume is below the following threshold

For a destination machine, specifies the point at which the source machine(s) will be signaled to slow down the rate at which log files are sent. When throttling is imposed, it will reduce the maximum transfer rate specified in Throttling Amount (Mbps) by 50%. If you do not specify a value in Throttling Amount (Mbps), no throttling will be imposed.

If this machine is used as destination, stop sending logs when the percentage of free disk space on this machine's log volume is below the following threshold

For a destination machine, specifies the point at which the source machine(s) will be signaled to stop sending log files.

Abort replication when the percentage of free disk space on source log volume is below the following threshold

For a source machine, specifies the point at which replication will be aborted.

Throttling Amount (Mbps)

Specifies network bandwidth throttling; maximum transfer rate in megabits per second. Fractional decimals (e.g., .75, 2.855) are allowed. The limit set here will apply to the aggregate of all activity for CDR on the source machine, comprised of the replication activities of all Replication Pairs except cases where multiple pipelines are being used during Baselining or SmartSync. If your destination machine is serving that function for multiple source machine, you should consider that when setting this limit on each of the source machines.

See Throttling in Books Online, for more information.

Bandwidth Throttling Rules

The schedule for network throttling, specifying a time range, and a percentage of maximum transfer rate during that time range. These setting allows you to select high and low (or no) activity periods in a manner similar to the 'operation window' concept used when scheduling the activities of job-based Agents.
