Client Computer Properties (General)

Use this dialog box to view or change the system configuration of the client computer.

Client Name

• Client Name

  Displays the name of the client computer in the CommCell Browser.

• Host Name

  Displays the full interface name of the client computer.

• CS HostName

  Displays the full interface name of the CommServe computer. This name is used by the Client to communicate with the CommServe.

• ProxyHost MediaAgent

  Specifies the MediaAgent to utilize for this client.

• Physical/Virtual

  Displays whether the client is a Physical or Virtual client. (Applies to clients in a clustered environment.)

• Active Physical Node

  Displays the Client Name of the active node. (Applies to clients in a clustered environment.)

• Edit

  Click to specify a different Client Name, Host Name and/or CS HostName.

  This button appears dimmed if the Client or MediaAgent is also the CommServe. (See Name Management in Books Online for information on how to change the CommServe name.)

Client Information

• OS

  Displays the operating system that runs the computer.

• Platform

  Displays the processor platform that runs the computer.

• Billing Department

  Displays the name of the billing department, if the Client is associated with a billing department. For more information on Billing and Costing See the CommNet Books Online.

Time Information

• Time Zone

  Displays the local time zone of the client computer.

• Clock skew with CommServe

  Displays the approximate difference in time between the client and the CommServe computer.  This calculation automatically adjusts for differences in time zones.

Description

Use this field to enter a description about the entity. This description can include information about the entity's content, cautionary notes, etc.
