Use this dialog box to view or modify the usage properties specified for the mount path of a disk library.
Mount Path Allocation Policy
Specifies that there is no maximum limit on the number of concurrent data protection operations to the mount path.
Specifies the maximum number of concurrent data protection operations on the mount path. If necessary, use the space to modify the maximum number of concurrent data protection operations on the mount path.
Specifies that the mount path will not be available for writing data. However read operations can be performed on the data available in the mount path. (If you wish to take the mount path offline, clear the Enable MountPath option in the General tab.)
Space Allocation
Specifies the total amount of free space that must be available at all times, when the system writes data to the mount path. If necessary, use the space to modify the amount of free space. The minimum reserve space is 2048 MB.
Specifies that the entire mount path (less the reserve space) will be used to store valid data.
Do not consume more than n GB
Specifies that only the specified amount of space will be used to store valid data.
Note that this option considers the backup size stored in the mount path. That is, the data size after compression and before deduplication.
Fragmentation
This option allows the MediaAgent to pre-allocate a specified portion of the backup chunk before beginning a write operation. The chunk size should be determined based on the disk array and the file allocation unit size. The default size is 128 MB.
Pre-allocating a specified chunk size before the write operation enables the Operating System to allocate contiguous disk clusters based on the requested chunk size, thus reducing disk fragmentation. This option is supported on Windows MediaAgent.
