Media Properties (Side ID)

Use this dialog box to view more information about media, especially the amount of use a media has sustained. Note that if a media is double-sided (e.g., an optical disk), an usage indicator is displayed for each side.

Capacity Info

• Native Capacity

  The total amount of data that can be stored on the media, as indicated by the media manufacturer.

• Size of Stored Data

  The total amount of data that has ever been written to the media. This number does not go down until the media is recycled.

Usage Info

• No. Of Write Sessions

  The number of times data has been written to the media.

• No. Of Read Sessions

  The number of times data has been read from the media.

• Last Write Session

  The most recent time at which data was written on the media.

• Last Read Session

  The most recent time at which the data was read from the media.

• No. Of Mounts

  Indicates the number of times a media was mounted on a drive.

• No. Of ReUses

  Indicates the number of times the media was reused.

• No. Of Read, Write Errors

  The number of read, write errors that a media has encountered.

• No. Of Media Label Errors

  The number of labeling errors that a media has encountered.

• Total number of File Markers

  The number of file markers on the media.
