Use this dialog box to add a new registry key or edit an existing one for the selected component.
Enter the name of a registry key.
Enter the relative location of the registry key in the instance or select an existing location.
For Windows Clients, select one of the following types:
- KEY
Creates a new folder under the relative location entered. For example, if the Name is regkey and the Location selected is Cvd, then a new folder \Cvd\regkey is created. If you desire to add a registry key as an element in the relative location entered, select one of the following types listed below.
- REG_DWORD
Assigns a DWORD value type to the registry key, which consists of binary data and is limited to 32 bits in length.
- REG_MULTI_SZ
Assigns a multi string value type to the registry key, which can be made up of numbers and characters. It is used for entering more than one value, where each value is separated by a NULL character.
- REG_SZ
Assigns a string value type to the registry key. "YES" or "NO" are common string values, as are phrases or complete sentences.
For Unix Clients, select one of the following types:
- KEY
Creates a new folder under the relative location entered. For example, if the Name is regkey and the Location selected is Cvd, then a new folder \Cvd\regkey is created. If you desire to add a registry key as an element in the relative location entered, select STRING as Type.
- STRING
Assigns a string value type to the registry key. Although a key's value type is not specified in Unix, a string value is always used for Unix registry keys.
