Media Management Library Report

Use this report to obtain status information for the libraries in the selected CommCell(s). Running this report can be useful for troubleshooting your CommCell environment. The report can be based on the Physical Libraries or Library Controllers in the CommCell(s). It provides you with detailed information regarding library status, such as whether or not it is active, operational, or even if it has failed, which then includes the failure reason. Status information for this report includes the following:

Report Based on Physical Libraries

Physical Libraries

This chart displays the number of all physical libraries (including disk and standalone) and whether they are operational (percentages and numbers displayed in a pie chart).

Libraries

This table contains the status information for the selected CommCell's libraries.

• The name of the library
• The status of the library and, if not operational, the failure reason and since when it has been not operational (percentages and numbers shown in a pie chart)
• The amount of data written to the library in the last week
• The number of drives residing in the library
• The number of slots as well as empty slots in the library
• The library's manufacturer, model, serial number, and firmware revision
• Scratch pools below watermark
• Capacity available in the library

Disk Libraries

This table contains the status information for the selected CommCell's disk libraries.

• The name of the library
• The status of the library and, if not operational, the failure reason and since when it has been not operational (percentages and numbers shown in a pie chart)
• The amount of data written to the library in the last week
• Low watermark threshold
• Capacity available in the library

Standalone Libraries

This table contains the status information for the selected CommCell's standalone libraries.

• The name of the library
• The status of the library and, if not operational, the failure reason and since when it has been not operational (percentages and numbers shown in a pie chart)
• The amount of data written to the library in the last week

• The library's manufacturer, model, serial number, and firmware revision
• Capacity available in the library

Report Based on Library Controllers

Library Controllers

This chart displays the number of all library controllers (including standalone controllers) and whether they are operational (percentages and numbers displayed in a pie chart).

Library Controllers

This table contains the status information for the selected CommCell's library controllers.

• The name of the library
• The name of the MediaAgent on which the library is configured
• The status of the library and, if not operational, the failure reason and since when it has been not operational (percentages and numbers shown in a pie chart)
• The SCSI Address of the library controller
• The current active status of the library controller, Yes or No
• The current user enabled status of the library controller, Yes or No
• The amount of data written to the library in the last week
• The number of drives residing in the library
• The number of slots as well as empty slots in the library
• The library's manufacturer, model, serial number, and firmware revision
• Scratch pools below watermark
• The capacity available in the library
• The number of spare media as well as the availability of media in the library

Standalone Library Controllers

This table contains the status information for the selected CommCell's standalone library controllers.

• The name of the library
• The name of the MediaAgent on which the library is configured
• The status of the library and, if not operational, the failure reason and since when it has been not operational (percentages and numbers shown in a pie chart)
• The SCSI Address of the library controller
• The current active status of the library controller, Yes or No
• The current user enabled status of the library controller, Yes or No
• The amount of data written to the library in the last week
• The library's manufacturer, model, serial number, and firmware revision
• The capacity available in the library

NOTES

• You can sort within columns by clicking the column title. For instance, this is an easy way to see if all libraries of a particular type have the latest firmware.
• Capacity available is an approximate value and is calculated as follows:

  Tape

  Total free space on all active, appendable, and spare media that is not exported (appendable media capacity is included in this report even if the "Use Appendable media" option is not selected in the CommCell)

  If you have drive types with different recording formats in the library, the system uses the lower capacity to calculate the total capacity.

  Standalone

  Total free space on active or appendable media that is currently in the drive.

  Disk

  Total free space on all of the mount paths for the library.

• Library Controller information is only applicable to CommCells with the current software version.
