Media detail for the CommCell includes the tape slot count information as well as whether the media is active, full, retired, bad, read only, etc.
This report should be generated periodically to fully understand how the media and tape slots are utilized in each CommCell, and to learn their current status. Knowing this information is useful in determining or troubleshooting any potential issues. From the report you can quickly identify media that is full or even bad, which can lead to job failure and possibly, loss of data.
