Media Management VaultTracker Report

The VaultTracker Report provides a convenient way to view information about media associated with VaultTracker operations occurring throughout multiple CommCells.

The VaultTracker Actions monitor provides additional information on VaultTracker operations occurring throughout each CommCell. Refer to the VaultTracker Action Monitor topic in Books Online for more information.

Three different report types are available, all of which can be generated immediately or scheduled to run at a specific time:

• Reconciliation (Pending Actions)
• Due Back for reuse
• History

Each report type can be customized to refine results based on a specific range of time.

The following sections describe the information available in each report type:

Reconciliation (Pending Actions)

This report type provides information about any pending actions in the selected CommCells. This report type is useful for monitoring any media movement attempts either currently underway or scheduled to take place.

In addition to information on actions initiated by tracking policies, this report can also include information on actions initiated by other means, such as manual export operations, completed data protection and recovery operations, or auxiliary copy operations. Also included is information on recalled media, as well as the content of the pending actions, such as associated containers (if any), expected return date, and status of the media. Optionally, you can select the Return to Any Library option to include information on media that is not designated for return to a specific library.

Due Back for reuse

This report type provides information about any media that are due to be returned to the source location for reuse by other data protection and recovery operations.

History

This report type provides information about completed VaultTracker operations. This information can include operations that have been aborted, rolled back, or successfully completed. Also included is information on the current status of the media associated with each operation, which is useful for ensuring previously completed operations have closed as expected. Optionally, you can select the Return to Any Library option to include information on media that is not designated for return to a specific library.

NOTES

• You can sort within columns by clicking the column title, which provides an easy way to collect similar information together.
• By default, the VaultTracker Actions Monitor is refreshed with the latest information every 20 minutes. You can change this interval using the Cell Data Collection Policy dialog box.
• If you want to view additional columns not selected in the Columns filter when the report was originally generated, you can add additional available columns by right-clicking on any row in the report and selecting View.
