Modify CommCell

Use this dialog box to the a modify the properties of a registered Cell.

Display Name

The display name for the Cell. This name is displayed in the CommNet Browser.

CommCell Interface Name

The full interface name (e.g., cell.company.com) or the IP address of the CommServe host machine (i.e., Cell). This interface name will be used to establish network connectivity between the CommNet Server and the Cell.

CommCell Client Name

The proper client name of the CommServe. This should be set after the CommNet server is upgraded from system version 8.0 to 9.0 and one of the following conditions apply:

You have a firewall between the CommServe and CommNet.
The CommServe and CommNet are both installed on the same machine prior to the upgrade.

The proper client name refers to the name of the CommServe installed, which is not always the interface name. In case you are not sure about the proper client name, look at the Value data in registry key sCSCLIENTNAME on the CommServe computer.

A brief description of the Cell.

Contact Information

The contact information of the Cell.

Connection Type

Select the connection type. Choose from the following options:

LAN: When the network connectivity between the CommNet Server and the Cell is reliable.
WAN: When the network connectivity between the CommNet Server and the Cell may have intermittent failures and hence is less reliable.

CommNet Interface Name

The network interface name in the CommNet Server that must be used to communicate with the CommCell.

Register CommCell Again - CommCell Administrator

This checkbox allows you to re-register the CommCell and activates the Name/Password fields.

Name
The CommCell user account that must be used by the CommNet Server to access the designated Cell. This user must have CommCell Administrative Management capability.
Password
The password associated with the specified user account.
