Job Priorities are a based on a 3-digit number. The first digit represents
operation priority.
If Client priority precedence is chosen, the second digit of the
job priority number represents client priority and the third digit
represents agent priority.
If Agent Type priority precedence is
chosen, the second digit of the job priority number represents agent
priority and the third digit represents client priority.
From the CommCell Browser, right-click the CommServe icon, click
Control Panel, and then click Job Management.
Click the
General
tab of
the Job Management dialog box.
From the Job Priorities pane, click the Agent
whose priority you want to modify, and enter a new value in the Priority column.
Remember that the lower
the value, the higher the priority.
From the CommCell Browser, right-click the client computer icon, and then select Properties
from the short-cut menu.
From the
Job
Configuration tab of the Client Computer Properties dialog box, click in the Job Priority (0-9) field
and enter a new client priority value. Remember that the lower the value, the higher
the priority.
From the Job Controller of the CommCell Console, right-click the job whose priority you want to change, then select
Change Priority from the shortcut menu.
From the
Change Job Priority dialog box, enter or select a new priority (from 0 to
999).
To change the job
priority of groups of active jobs:
From the Job Controller of the CommCell Console, right-click the job (or
highlight groups of jobs) whose priority you want to change, then select
Change Priority from the shortcut menu.
From the
Change Job Priority dialog box, enter or select a new priority (from 0 to
999).
If you are changing the priority of:
all active jobs, select the
All Jobs option.
all highlighted jobs, select the
All Selected Jobs option.
only jobs for a particular client,
select the All Jobs for this Client
option, and then choose a client. You can also change the priority of
jobs for a particular agent by selecting the Only Jobs for this Agent
Type field.
only jobs for a particular MediaAgent, select the All Jobs on this MediaAgent
option, and then choose a MediaAgent.
From the dialog box of the appropriate data protection, data recovery, or
auxiliary copy operation, click
the Advanced tab (the placement of the Advanced tab may differ for each
operation).
In the Advanced Options dialog box select the
Startup
tab.
On the
Startup
tab, select either the Default Priority Value or the
Change
Priority button to enter a New Priority Value from 0 (highest
priority) to 999 (lowest priority).
From the Schedule Jobs dialog box select the appropriate schedule job.
Edit the scheduled job and navigate to the Advanced tab (the placement
of the Advanced tab may differ or may not apply for each operation).
In the Advanced Options dialog box select the
Startup
tab.
On the
Startup
tab, select either the Default Priority Value or the
Change
Priority button to enter a New Priority Value from 0 (highest
priority) to 999 (lowest priority).
