Bring Media Back On-Site

Use the Recall Media feature to bring media back on-site, such as Iron Mountain.

The Recall Media feature uses the tracking policy created when the media was exported to determine its current location. The media can be brought back to the library from which it originated or to a different library. Additionally, the Recall Media operation can be configured to keep the media in the recall destination for a specific period of time.

To bring exported media back:

  1. From the CommCell Browser, right-click the subclient associated with the media you wish to recall and click List Media.

Note that you can use the Specify Browse Time and Exclude Data Before options to list media between a specified date and time range.

  2. From the List Media dialog box, select the media you wish to recall and click Recall Media.

The Recall Media dialog box appears.

  3. From the General tab, select the following:
  4. From the Destination tab, configure the following destination options:
  5. Click OK.

The recall media action is now initiated and viewable in the VaultTracker | Actions node of the CommCell Console.
