About this Report

The Cleaning Media report displays detailed status information for the cleaning media libraries in a CommCell as well as their associated cleaning mediums.

When to use this Report

Use this report to check the average usage of cleaning media libraries as well as the cleaning media details per library for a CommCell.

This report helps to detect issues with the drives and/or cleaning media. For example, if the average usage for a cleaning media is high for a specific library it may indicate that there is an issue with the associated drives.

What this Report Contains

This report presents the data in the following sections:

Section Description
Cleaning Media Library/Media Repository Usage Aggregate The table displays the following information for all the cleaning media libraries in the selected CommCell:
  • Total number of cleaning media associated with the library.
  • Total number of cleaning media used within the library.
  • Average usage of the library's cleaning media.
  • Total number of times the cleaning media has been used.
  The average usage is calculated by dividing the Total Usage by the Total Number of Media. This calculation includes expired media, but not deleted media.
Cleaning Media Detail The table displays the following information for all the cleaning mediums in the selected CommCell:
  • Name of the associated library.
  • Barcode information.
  • Creation time (time of discovery and expiration status).
  • Number of times the cleaning medium has been used.
  • Threshold for number of uses.
  • Average usage (14 day basis).
  The average usage is calculated by dividing the total usage by the number of 14 day intervals that have passed within the time range. This calculation includes expired media, but not deleted media.

How to Generate the Report

  • From the CommNet Browser, click Reports.
  • Under Media Management Reports, click Cleaning Media.

  • Under CommCell Selection, add the CommCells you want to include in this report.
  • Click Generate.

Scheduling and Saving a Report

After a report is generated, you can schedule a new report and save it to an specific location as a PDF, excel spreadsheet or MHTML file. Scheduling and saving reports will help you analyze and compare data from your CommCells.

Follow the steps below to create a schedule:

  • Click Schedule from the top of the report window.
  • Type the name of the schedule and enter a description.
  • Click Next.
  • Select the appropriate schedule options. For example:
    • Select the time zone.
    • Select the start date and the frequency to generate the report.
    • Change the Start Time to 9:00 PM
    • Click Repeat Task and configure at which interval the schedule should be repeated.
  • Click Next.
  • Select the file format.
  • Click Save To File to save the report to a local drive or network share.

    Specify the Destination Path for the output file.

  • You can also click Send E-Mail to User(s) and/or User Groups(s) to send the report as an email attachment to a user or user group.
  • Click Finish.

The report will be generated as specified in the schedule task.

Customizations That You Can Perform With This Report

You can further customize the report by using the filters available in the report. To access the filter options, click Filters at the top of the report window as shown in the image. After making your selections, click Generate to update the report.
