  • To Upgrade a 32-bit CommServe installed on a Microsoft Windows x64 platform.

Usage

Before You Begin
  • To upgrade the software to QiNetix 8.0.0, the DBUpgrade utility must be run on a computer in which Microsoft SQL Server 2005 is installed.
  • Verify and ensure that QiNetix Services are stopped before performing the upgrade.

Running the Utility

  1. Copy the DBUpgrade folder from the Resource Pack to a local folder in your hard drive.

    NOTES

  2. Run DBUpgrade.exe from the local folder.
  3. The Galaxy Database Upgrade dialog box displays the following Upgrade Types:
    • Production Upgrade - Use this option to upgrade the database after successfully performing a Test Upgrade of the database. The Production Upgrade process creates a backup of the CommServ database and then upgrades the database to the current version.

The Test Upgrade process creates a backup of the CommServ database and then upgrades the database to the current version and then saves the database in a new location.

In the Enter the path to restore the COMMSERV Database box, enter a path (or use the Browse button) to specify a path for restoring the database before the upgrade.

    NOTES

On cluster setup, the database restore location should be to a shared drive.

    Click Next to continue.
