Description

This utility is used to test the mail connection as used by Galaxy to send alert mail. By default, the mail server and sender used are retrieved from the Galaxy database.

Users can run this program only on the CommServe machine.

Usage

1.             Copy the executable to <Galaxy Install Directory>\Base.

2.             From a command line, send a test message to the given address per the following command:

TestSendMail [-attach <file>] [-server <name>] [-from <name>] [-debug] address
where:
-
attach <file> indicates to attach the given file to the message.
-server <name> indicates to use the given SMTP server instead of the value stored in CommServ database.
-from <name> indicates that the generated mail message will use the given name for the sender's name.
-port <numb> indicates to use the given SMTP port instead of the value stored in CommServ database. (Database default value = 25).
-debug turns on debugging messages during mail transfer.
