After selecting the QR Volume type and any advanced options, click OK.
The QR Volume operation will begin and you
can track the progress of the job in the Job Controller window.
Create or Remove CIFS/NFS Shares for SnapVault Snapshots
For SnapVault snapshots CIFS (Windows) or NFS (Unix) shares to the QR source
or destination snapshot can be created.
You can create or remove CIFS/NFS shares to the QR source or destination
snapshots from the QR browser.
To
create or remove CIFS/NFS shares from the QR browser:
Open/go to the QR Volume Browse window.
Select a SnapVault snapshot.
Right-click Details, and go to the CIFS/NFS tab.
Select the host machine where the share will be created.
Click ADD, and specify the share name in the Add Share name
dialog box.
For windows, you can specify any share name but in case of unix, the export
name is always set to the full path on the file server and cannot be modified.
You can either configure a QR volume so that the snapshots are
backed to tape when they are created, or you can select an existing snapshot and back it
to tape on-demand.
To configure
QR volume to backup snapshots to tape when they are created:
From the CommCell Browser, right-click the subclient, and select
Create QR Volume(s).
From the
QR Volume Creation dialog
box, make your selections for Select Operation and Job Initiation, then select Backup
Snapshots.
Click Enter Backup Details to select the type of backup from the
Enter Backup Details dialog.
From the Enter Backup Details dialog, click Advanced to display
the Advanced Backup Options dialog, from which you can select additional
options for the backup operation.
When you are finished, click OK to exit each of the dialog boxes.
To perform
a full backup of an existing snapshot to tape on-demand:
From the CommCell Browser, right-click the agent, click All Tasks and select
Browse.
From the Browse QR Volumes dialog box, select the snapshot and click
Backup Snapshot To Tape.
From the On Demand Backup Options dialog box, select OK.
