Configuration

The following must be done before using the Unix File System iDataAgent with QSnap:

  1. Verify that the computer in which you wish to install the software satisfies System Requirements for the Unix File System iDataAgent.
  2. Install the Unix File System iDataAgent and QSnap. For more information and procedures, see the deployment pages for the corresponding platform under Linux/Unix File System iDataAgents and Install QSnap - Unix.
  3. Specify that the subclient use QSnap by right-clicking the subclient, choosing Properties, and selecting Use QSnap in the General tab of the Subclient Properties dialog.
  • QSnap must be enabled on the subclients on which it will back up open/locked files. See Enable QSnap on a Subclient for step-by-step instructions.
  • The COW Cache mount point is selected at the time of installation. See Unix COW Cache in the Overview - QSnap page for more information on supported COW cache configurations.
  • When you add a volume to a subclient content, it is automatically configured as a CXBF device. See CXBF Devices in the Overview - QSnap page for more information.
