I Would Like to Add an Alert, but the Add Button is Disabled

The user group that you belong to may not have CommNet Administration rights

Obtain CommNet Administration rights for the user group you belong to by following the procedure Change the Capabilities and Association of a User Group.

The user group that you belong to may be disabled

Enable your user group by following the procedure Modify the Properties of a User Group.

Only a user with CommNet Administration rights can add/modify/delete Alerts. See Capabilities and Permitted Actions for more information.

What Do I Do When I Cannot Log On to the CommNet Browser

Your user name and password are incorrect

Obtain a new user name and password by following the procedure Change the Password of a User .

Your user account is disabled

Enable your user account by following the procedure Modify the Properties of a User.

Only a user with CommNet Administration rights can modify the properties of a user. See Capabilities and Permitted Actions for more information.

I Cannot View All Alerts or All Schedules in the CommNet Browser

The user group you belong to does not have CommNet Administration Rights

Obtain CommNet Administration rights for the user group you belong to by following the procedure Change the Capabilities and Association of a User Group.

  • A user with CommNet Administration rights can view All Alerts and All Schedules in the CommNet Browser.
  • A user without CommNet Administration rights can only view My Alerts and My Schedules in the CommNet Browser.

I Cannot See Certain Cells in the CommNet Browser

The user group you belong to does not have rights for those Cells

Add association for those Cells to your user group by following the procedure Change the Capabilities and Association of a User Group.

  • To view CommCells in the CommNet Browser, your user group must have CommCell Administration rights.
  • After applying CommCell Administration rights to your user group, you can view new Cells by re-opening the CommNet Browser.

I Cannot See Other Users and User Groups

The user group you belong to does not have CommNet Administration rights

Obtain CommNet Administration rights for the user group you belong to by following the procedure Change the Capabilities and Association of a User Group.

  • A user with CommNet Administration rights can view all user and user groups in the CommNet Browser.
  • A user without CommNet Administration rights can only view their user account and their user group in the CommNet Browser.

What Do I Do When I am Forbidden to Perform a Task for a Cell

The user group that you belong to does have CommCell Administration rights

Obtain the required CommCell Administration rights for your user group by following the procedure Changing the Capabilities and Association of a User Group.

The user group that you belong to may be disabled

Enable the user group that you belong to by following the procedure Modify User Group Properties.

Only a user with CommNet Administration rights and rights to the particular Cell can modify the properties of a user group. See Capabilities and Permitted Actions for more information.
