Climatic Environment

These DPS 9000/9xx systems have a cooling system which operates in two ways.

  1. They use their internal fans to take the air they need for cooling from the environment of the room and expel it back into the room.
  2. By circulating distilled water (without additives) inside the elements of the CSM (= EPU + SCU + MMU) of the computer.

The heat dissipation of the various machines, in air and in water, is expressed in kW.

The air conditioning is therefore limited to the environment of the computing room and there should be no need to make specific adaptations to deliver the air under and into the elements of the computer.

The "data processing" environment complies with standard NF ISO 7730 dated December 1986, in other words the climatic environment is monitored, in terms of both temperature (°C) and hygrometry (% RH Relative Humidity).

The use of computer hardware in a climatic environment in excess of, or bordering, the extreme limits shortens the lifetime of the electronic components. This can adversely affect the dependability of the hardware.

OPTIMUM DEPENDABILITY IS OBTAINED WITH:

-    A TEMPERATURE OF 22 ± 2°C
          gradient of 3°C per hour

-    A HYGROMETRY OF 50 ± 5 %
gradient of 5 % per hour
