Copy Properties (Data Path Configuration)

Use this dialog box to configure alternate data paths and specify the conditions for using an alternate data path for the copy.

Automatically add new datapath

Indicates that the system automatically adds the alternate data paths for a shared library. Verify and ensure that Automatically add datapaths for new drivepools configured option is enabled in the Library Properties (Advanced) tab for this option to work.

Use Alternate Data Paths

Select this option if you want to use an alternate data path when resources are offline and/or resources are busy.

When this option is selected and you click the Add button to select the data paths, the Copy Data Path Candidates dialog box displays the data paths associated with all MediaAgents that share the library  with the default data path or whose indexes are also shared in the MediaAgent Properties (Index Cache) tab.

Round-Robin between Data Paths

Select this option to automatically load balance between all the available data paths.

When this option is selected and you click the Add button to select the data paths, the Copy Data Path Candidates dialog box displays the data paths that share  a common index in the MediaAgent Properties (Index Cache) tab.

Use preferred data path

Select this option to perform data protection operations using only the LAN free data paths. (Note that the client and the MediaAgent must be on the same computer, in order to perform a LAN-free operation.)

When this option is selected and you click the Add button to select the data paths, the Copy Data Path Candidates dialog box displays all the available data paths associated with all MediaAgents and all Libraries configured in the CommCell. When the data paths are selected, the system automatically determines whether a data path is LAN free before performing the data protection operations.
